The most advanced hybrid sedan ever from Honda is now on sale at your local Honda dealer – the restyled and reengineered 2017 Accord Hybrid. The next-generation hybrid system makes the Accord Hybrid not only the most powerful, but the most fuel-efficient midsize hybrid sedan, with 212 horsepower and EPA fuel economy ratings of 49 mpg city and 47 mpg highway.
Also updated in the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is the styling and the addition of the latest in safety and entertainment technology. An updated Display Audio touchscreen interface in the Accord Hybrid now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for better smartphone connectivity.
Some new available features include remote engine start, rain sensing wipers, heated front and rear seats and auto high-beam headlights. A more compact lithium ion battery increases trunk space to a class-leading 13.5 cubic feet, more than any other midsize hybrid sedan.
The new two-motor hybrid powertrain eliminates the need for a conventional mechanical transmission, allowing for seamless operation in the three different drive modes.
EV Drive uses just the electric motor and lithium ion battery pack for driving short distances under light loads. Hybrid Drive uses the electric motors to drive the vehicle, while the gasoline engine powers a generator to supplement the battery pack. Engine Drive uses a lock-up clutch to connect the gas engine and electric motor to drive the front wheels together.
Standard Honda Sensing safety features on the Accord Hybrid include Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation and Adaptive Cruise Control.
